Hello Orchid Lovers!
Sorry about the slow update…..
For September we will be having another Saturday daytime activity. So we won’t be meeting on the third Wednesday evening this month.
Saturday, September 14th will be Janet Christ’s Orchid Greenhouse day, from 10am-2pm. Her address is 6463 Sunrise Ave, Nampa.
Janet is a long time member and has a huge greenhouse.
She is definitely an orchid expert and is our go to person for orchid identification and growing suggestions. Janet grows a wide variety of plants and her greenhouse always has something fragrant in bloom.
While we’re at the greenhouse there will be a few presentations.
Nick Roberts of Gem State Carnivore’s will share his extensive knowledge about carnivorous plants.
Pam Spencer, 2024 TVOS board president will talk about her experiences with keeping Tillandsias.
There will also be a orchid repotting demonstration and how to know when to repot them, along with learning how to clean them if needed.
For the potluck, either bring a salad, a side dish or a dessert and the appropriate serving ware. A board member will be providing sandwich roll-ups. Table service, ice tea, pop and water will be provided.
Be sure to bring a lawn chair.
