Our purpose is to promote and advance the knowledge and appreciation of orchids

                             Event for July, 2026

 Hi orchid lovers!

For the month of July we will not be having a Wednesday evening meeting at the King of Glory Church.

It’s time again for our Silent Auction and potluck!
This is a great time to sell unwanted items and it’s a lot of fun to see and buy items from other peoples collections.

We will be meeting this month at the Steven Guerber Park at 2200 East Hill road on Saturday July 25th, 10:00a.m.until 2:00 p.m.
Our reserved spot is the Sunset Pavilion,    section C.
Even if it’s hot outside we’ll be in the shade and there is usually a gentle breeze blowing. It’s normally very nice.
Tammy will bring a fan just in case it’s needed.

Please be sure to bring a lawn chair.

This is the time for everybody to bring any of their “extra” orchids to sell.
Also anything plant related, houseplants, outdoor plants, potting supply’s (pots, tools, soils, sprays) are also great things to bring to sell.
Be sure to bring a table to set all of your “for the auction” items on.
Bid sheets will be provided for you to fill out information on each of your “for sale” items.

Pencils will be provided to fill out Bid sheets.

The Orchid Club will be selling a variety of left over orchids from the annual show.

The Club is also selling bags of Orchiata Potting Mix.
This really is a great product! You really should try it if you haven’t yet.
Some of it’s great quality’s are: 1) the bark resists breaking down significantly longer than traditional fur or pine bark meaning you do not have to repot your plants as often. 2) the bark allows easy rewetting and never requires flushing as it does not accumulate salts.
There will be a variety of bark sizes for sell.

We should have plenty of auction sale items to choose from with everybody’s contributions!

Since this is fundraising activity the club will keep 20% of your auction sales, (or you can donate more to the club if you want).
Sales tax will be collected.

Please note: For items you buy, payments will need to be made by cash or check. We can’t accept credit cards this time.

While the Silent Auction is running we’ll be having a potluck.
Fried chicken will be provided.
Please bring a salad, finger sandwiches, a side dish, or a dessert and the appropriate serving ware.
Just a reminder, if you bring a cold dish and it’s convenient, please try to bring some way to keep it cool.
Table service, ice tea, pop and water will be provided.

Be sure to bring a lawn chair!

                            Upcoming Events

Arrangements for all events for the rest of the year are not completely finalized yet. When each date gets closer, details will be added to this website and an email will be sent out to TVOS members.
Please let us know of any ideas you have. Some members have already given us some great ideas!

For August-Alan and Donna have invited us to their house for a garden party on the 15th. There will be a finger food potluck of sweet or savory items.
Alan will talk about managing the orchids in their greenhouse. He will also talk about the new carnivorous plant bog garden that Nick Roberts just installed.
When it gets closer to the date more specific activity details will be posted.

For December-we normally have our Annual Meeting, holiday party and potluck.
When it gets closer to the date more specific activity details will be posted.

We’re still working on programs for September, October and November.
If you have any ideas or suggestions for programs let one of the board members know.
